Below is a list of frequently asked questions we have received from our guests about our vacation homes. If you have an in-house emergency during your stay call us and leave a message and someone from our team will get back to you as soon as possible. Try to follow up with a quick e-mail as well because in this area sometimes the voicemails are inaudible due to service coverage.

How do I book a home? 
 
You can either easily and securely make a booking directly on our website by using the "Book It Now" feature. Or you can call our office at 530.926.4800 and one of our team members will be glad to help you. 
 
Is booking online secure? 
 
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database. It will only be accessible by those authorized with special rights to such systems. They are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.
 

Is there a minimum age to book your homes?

Yes, the person paying for the reservation must be at least 26 years of age, and 28 years for some homes.  We may ask for require a copy of your driver's license as proof of age.  In the event we find guests who do not meet the the minimum age requirement, immediate eviction with no refunds may occur.


Where are your homes located? 
 
Our vacation homes are located in Siskiyou and Shasta Counties. Our homes are in Redding and as far north as Weed, CA, and as far east as McCloud, CA. All of our homes are off I-5. Most of our homes are easily accessible from the main roads, with some requiring a 4 wheel drive in the winter snow. Many of our homes offer in town convenience, beautiful mountain or water views. 
 
Are the homes easy to get to?
 
Most of our vacation homes are accessed from public roads or paved mountain roads, all of which are accessible year round (with the exception of the snow storms during the winter months). We will advise our guest if access in the winter is limited 
 
What are your rental policies?

Do you charge more if we have more guests in a home?
 
Each home has a price set for a maximum number of guests.  Additional guests in most homes are subject to an additional charge of person per night. 
 
What furnishings are included in the home? 
 
All our homes are fully furnished and include the following unless specifically stated otherwise: Fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee pot, dish and flatware, full complement of cooking pots and utensils, towels and linens for each bed and bath, dressers or closets for storing your clothing, heating (monitor/kerosene or central heat), vacuums or brooms and mops, some homes have gas or wood burning fireplaces, and patio furniture. Homes are stocked with a starter supply of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body soap, paper towels, toilet paper, dish/dishwasher detergents, and garbage bags. 
 
Many of our homes do not have air conditioning. For the few days in the summer when it is very warm (upper 90's), the locals use fans, and open the windows at night to cool their homes. Please ask us, or review the amenities of the home you wish to rent should you require air conditioning. We make every effort to have a box fan at each property for your use. 
 
Where are the nearest grocery stores? Should we buy all our groceries before we check in? 
 
Depending on which home you rent, you have a few options. If you are staying in and around Mt. Shasta, the largest grocery is Ray's Food Place which is off Lake St. in town. Berryvale Organic Grocery is on Mt. Shasta Blvd, and Mt. Shasta Grocery is on McCloud Ave. All three of our grocery stores have delis and Berryvale has a sit down area as well.  
 
McCloud's grocery source is McCloud Market at 117 Broadway. 
 
Ray's Food Place is also the primary market in Weed. It is located just north of the intersection of Hwy 97 and Weed St at 175 N. Weed St. There is also a Grocery Outlet in the south end of weed right across from the Pilot Gas Station which also has alot of traveling items. There is a Dollar General as well on Boles Creek Road in Central Weed.
 
Dunsmuir's main grocer is Thriftway Foods, and it is located at 5529 Dunsmuir Ave. There is also a Dollar General located in Florence Loop right near the central freeway exit and entrance. Manfredi's Food & Gas Depot located at 6920 Dunsmuir Ave (South Dunsmuir) has really good sandwiches at reasonable prices. 
 
We have a community directory in each Vacation Home that details grocery, restaurants and medical emergency information. 
 
We can also stock your home with groceries prior to your arrival so you can settle in and get the most out of your vacation time. Call us an ask us about this option.  
 
What is your cancellation policy? 
 
You may cancel your reservation for a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee if your arrival date is more than 30 days away. If your arrival date is within 30 day , the cancellation fee is one night's rental rate for up to 14 days before your arrival date. Once inside 14 days, there are no refunds.   The exception is if any day of your reservation falls on a holiday, there are no refunds. 
 
Do you have any pet friendly homes? 
 
Yes, we do have pet friendly homes. Pets are never allowed on the furniture or bedding in any home. Bringing pets into a non pet friendly home is a serious offense as some guests and owners have severe allergies. If you plan to bring your pet, make sure you reserve a home that is clearly listed as pet friendly and your pet is clearly approved on your terms and conditions. Pet fees apply.  
 
Are there wild animals around there? 
 
Yes. Here in the mountains and woods, it is very common to see wild deer, turkey, and even a bear occasionally. Some vacation homes are more secluded than others and hence you may see more wildlife than others. For your safety, we highly recommend not attempting to become good pals with the animals but instead, enjoy watching their natural character in their natural environments. 
 
Do all your homes have wireless internet?
 
In some locations internet is not available, and some owners simply want to unplug when they stay in their homes, so internet is not available. 
 
Most of our homes have wireless internet.  Check the amenities on the specific property page for details of your home. You can always call or email us and ask if your home has internet.
 
What is there to do around the area? 
 
Everything…nothing….it depends on what you like to do. There is an abundance of outdoor activities available in the mountains from mountain biking to hiking , swimming, rock climbing, snow and water skiing to rafting to stream and lake fishing. The surrounding mountain towns offer shopping, festivals and dining and then there’s always the preferred mountain getaway activity of kicking back in the home while gazing out over the mountain view, yawning deeply and slumbering into a deep and peaceful nap.

What time can we check-in/out? Why is check-in/out so late/early? Can we have a late check-out/early check-in? 
 
Check-in time is 3 pm and Check-out time is 11 am. We require at least 4 hours between check-outs and check-ins in order to properly clean and prepare our homes for the next guest arrival. Therefore, we start our cleaning at 11 am which gives the departing guests enough time to leave and our housekeeping team enough time to finish by 3 pm. You may be able to reserve an early check-in or late check-out during non-peak times. And if you reserve an early check in or a late check out it is not guaranteed should another guest be arriving or departing that same day so your early or late check in/out is subject to change at any time.   
 
Any unauthorized early arrivals or late departures will result in a fee of $20. Should we have guests arriving same day as an unauthorized late departure, the fee could be equivalent to a night's stay. Our schedules are based on arrival time of 3 pm and it is very disruptive to crews when guests arrive early unannounced or depart late. If you have reserved an early check-in or late check-out, below are the times for that option: Early check-in: 1:00 pm Late check-out: 1:00 pm.
 
What if we are going to arrive after your office hours? How do we check in? 
 
We are set up to where you drive directly to the vacation home using the detailed directions we email you. There is a lock box at each of our properties that contain the key to the front door. A week prior to your arrival you will receive the driving directions to your cabin along with the code for the lock box. A-List Vacation Homes & Management is always available after-hours should you need any assistance. 
 
What happens if we have an emergency or a serious situation after hours like the power goes out? 
 
For life threatening emergencies, always dial 911 first. For questions relating to any malfunctions or issues with the home, you can reach us at any time by calling our office. Obviously there will be times when we cannot fix the issue – such as a power outage or when internet/cable service providers are having issues. We are  large county with few resources spread wide so somethings cannot get fixed right away either like air conditioning, cable/internet, and other major appliance issues. Especially on the weekends. However, we always strive to correct whatever issues arise during your stay.
 
I accidentally left something behind at the home. Will you go get it and ship it back to me? 
 
We will be happy to ship any of your left behind personal items for the cost of the packaging and shipping plus a $10 handling fee.
 
I want to book a home but I have to check with my friends or family to see what dates everyone wants to come so can you hold it for me until I confirm dates? 
 
We may be able to do a 24 hour block if it is more than 30 days prior to arrival and not a holiday booking. We recommend determining your dates prior to checking on home availability.  
 
Do you have any homes that sleep more than 10 people?
 
Yes, we do have properties that will sleep 10 or more guests. Not all have separate private bedrooms but may have futon sleepers or sofa beds that allow for the additional sleeping capacity. 
 
Do you have any other fees or charges? 
 
Price depends on many variable factors. Nightly rents begin at $115 and increases from there depending on the home size, location, number of guests, and the season. All charges are clearly itemized when you reserve your home online. Our fixed charges consist of a the rental fee for the property, lodging tax, and cleaning fee which includes a complete cleaning and stocking of the home.
 
We have two options for either a security deposit or an insurance policy.
The first option is a $37 non-refundable damage waiver insurance to cover any repair costs for any accidental or unintentional damages to the premises for up to $3000 so you do not have to worry about a security deposit or accidental damage while you are in the home.   
 
All accidental damages must be reported to the office before your check out for the damage waiver to cover repair/replacement costs. Repair costs for damage in excess of $3000 or damage that is deemed intentional, will-full or a result of neglect will be charged directly to guest's credit card. This damage waiver does not cover unreported accidental damage, intentional damage, theft, excessive cleaning, or any damage or flea infestation caused by pets.

The second option is a security deposit which we will hold for the duration of your stay and release once you have vacated the property and it has been inspected for any damages. The security deposits vary in price depending on the property you stay in.


All other charges are optional based on your wants or needs such as a pet fee for when you bring pets, additional supplies, etc. Of course you can always call us if you have specific questions.
 
What are the benefits of a vacation home rental?
 
Vacation homes allow you to visit and celebrate with your family and friends with all the amenities of home. We have fully stocked kitchens so you can prepare meals at home or barbeque. Some homes have games, TV's in more than one room, large yards, decks or spas all for what is typically less than a hotel room.
 
Do you have cribs and high chairs? 
 
We can arrange to deliver a pack and play or high chair to your vacation rental for your stay for a cleaning charge of $10 per item per stay. Please inquire with the reservations office for details.
